Nike, the world's leading brand in athletic wear and equipment, has chosen Safestone's DetectIT security solutions as their worldwide standard for security audit and compliance solutions on the IBM System i.

The first installation of the solution was in Nike's European distribution center in Laakdal (Belgium), which supplies 52 countries with Nike clothing, footwear and accessories.  Nike knew in the wake of regulations such as SOX, PCI and Basel II that they needed a cost-effective and easy to implement solution that allowed them to report upon policy exceptions across multiple systems located around the world.  Their comprehensive search ended with Safestone's DetectIT security solutions for the System i, which addressed all of their security, audit and compliance needs.

"Thanks to our 21 years of experience in the marketplace," explains Herman de Groot, Sales Director EMEA/APAC at Safestone, "we have a modular product that is 99% ready as standard for compliance standards such as Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI, BASEL II, etc. So it can be geared to meet specific customer needs without too much implementation work being required."

Nike uses DetectIT to continuously monitor critical files and provide alerts when an unauthorized action is taken.  It also provides them with a comprehensive set of reports allowing Administrators to effectively manage internal audit requests. In addition to addressing audit and compliance concerns, Nike has seen a dramatic reduction in internal calls to their help desk by installing DetectIT Password Self Help. This tool, allows all users of the System i to address their own password challenges easily and securely.

Every quarter Nike evaluates their security compliance policy using the functionality provided in Safestone's DetectIT security solutions.   DetectIT has provided Nike with a flexible and scalable corporate standard for their System i environment that provides comprehensive reporting on their security and compliance policies.
