The IBM i (OS/400) generates an immense amount of security data in its logs and journals.  i Connect monitors, captures, filters and configures this data into relevant security event messages, and subsequently transfers them to the any console for correlation and aggregation from many different sources.

To avoid overloading the network and SIEM with every journal entry, filtering is used to select or omit events based on specific criteria. 

Event type, message ID, job name, job user name, program name, actual profile name, time and day of week.
