The IBM i (OS/400) generates an immense amount of security data in its logs and journals,  i Connect monitors, captures, filters and configures this data into relevant security event messages and subsequently transfers them to the enVision console for correlation and aggregation from many different sources.  

i Connect covers over 300 different events.  These include:-

To avoid overloading the network and the enVision SIEM with every journal entry, filtering is used to select or omit events based on specific criteria. 

Event type, message ID, job name, job user name, program name, actual profile name, time and day of week.
